L.L. Bean is one of the most phenomenal companies in the world when it comes to consistent quality, friendly service and iron-clad lifetime guarantees. Nearly everything I've ever bought there is the best product of its kind. The one or two products I didn't like or had issues with over the years were taken back without question. Repairs and replacements are also handled pleasantly and without a hassle. If every retailer and/or mail order company were like this, we'd truly have heaven on earth.

We need more LL Beans in this world
I couldn't agree more. I'd read about their customer service in one of Ron Kaufman's books and didn't truly believe a company would be that great. The true test was that I'd bought an LL Bean product whilst on holiday in the States, and two years later, back home in the UK the zip broke. A few e-mails and weeks later, a brand new fleece vest arrived. I've told so many people about this, and they too have been taken aback. We need more LL Beans in this world.

Not once, but twice, I inquired about how I can get a well-worn L.L. Bean product repaired and both times, the associate returned it at no cost and gave me a brand new one. Their attention to and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction is unmatched by any other retailer I know - including Nordstrom. I now consider L.L. Bean first before buying any outdoor equipment or clothing.

Old school values
Bean's old school values and one of the most famous product guarantees around have made me loyal for life. Bean employees live and breathe the product (go to the flagship store and you'll see) and I've never hesitated to buy anything from them.
