A musician of both worlds
I agree. Tom Waits is something of a musician of both worlds - he writes both traditional jazz/blues music and weird experimental music. Someone who goes out all the way as a composer. His lyrics are both sad and funny, always about the underbelly of society. I admire this man's craftmanship.
