Boy, can my mom play!

I grew up all over the world, so it’s the stuff – more than location – that reminds me of home. When I was young, we lived in Seoul, Korea and there were a lot of Hawaiians there. We would throw luaus and everyone would bring their ukes and play all night. And boy, can my mom play! My parents own 4 Kamaka ukes – a standard, a tenor, a baritone and an 8-string – and we lugged those things everywhere. They gave me the tenor a few years ago. Who knew that Kamaka makes the top-of the line ukulele? All I know is that nothing reminds me of *home* like the sounds of a ukulele.
