Wordsmith.org is a worldwide online community of some half-million readers who share a love for words, wordplay, language, and literature. It was founded in 1994 by Anu Garg, while studying as a graduate student in computer science.

Challenges me not to 'dumb down'
Anu Garg challenges me to not join the ranks of those willing to 'dumb down' but rather excites me to not only learn about our dynamic English language but to use a most expressive and descriptive language in every day conversation and writing. I enjoy the variety and try to share the words at work, sometimes starting a lively conversation. Reading the feedback from around the world lets me know people have more in common than not, there's no room for prejudice and hatred.
