Alien is a series of science fiction films directed by Ridley Scott. The first Alien film was released in 1979 and its popularity has spawned literature, video games and merchandise.

Where else could I turn
I couldn't bear to be without the Alien franchise... actually that's not entirely true, I could do without films three and four. But I certainly couldn't do without the created world of Aliens. Where else would I get my recurring nightmares from? Where else could I turn to in my psyche for labiodental horrors like this? I couldn't describe my relationship with this imagined universe without using the word love.

Deeply scary .. and strange
The Alien series has fascinated me for years. I love the Ripley character because she is tough in spite of not being at all prepared for what is happening and I think that the Aliens sequel was an even better example of that. The special effects are terrific, the story is engrossing, the characters are well-written, and the alien creature design is deeply scary. I've watched Aliens at least 20 times and this is the strangest thing... If you were to ask me what my three favorite movies are I'd say: Aliens, When Harry Met Sally, and the Sound of Music. How strange is that!
