    "Friendly, Caring, Loyal". "You are a stranger here but once". Both statements so true about the Black Dog. Having been a patron for many years, it is the place where you are met by a smile, a story, great food, and everyone is so friendly and does know your name.

  • Soon enjoying an intimate meal

    My wife, Lee, and I have watched the Black Dog grow from a simple neighborhood pub to one of the most popular establishments in Toronto. The owner, and staff have all become friends. But what really made the Black Dog a Lovemark for us was an experience we had last winter. Coming home from work, Lee and I decided to stop in for a bite. It was packed and no tables were to be had. So we decided to go home. As we were pulling out of the parking lot, I heard a tap on the car window. It was Heidi, one of the serving staff, standing there in her t-shirt in the freezing cold. She asked us not to leave. We followed her inside, and she escorted us downstairs to a small private dining room. Soon we were enjoying an intimate meal at our favourite place.
