In 1885 Gilbert Hitchcock founded the Omaha Evening World. Four years later, he bought the Omaha Morning Herald and combined the two papers. The Omaha World-Herald was born. In 1929 the paper had a paid circulation of 102,000, with main offices located on the corner of 15th and Farnam streets.

  • Great service

My newspaper subscription had expired and there was a balance due, about $60, which isn't a lot but was an amount I couldn't pay. My husband had moved out and I have 4 kids to support with very little money coming in. I explained this to the service rep who called to collect what was due. Not only did she forgive the back balance, she restarted my paper, running a small payment, and even gave me a few extra weeks.
