MGB Sports Cars

MGB was launched as a replacement for the British Motor Corporation’s MGA sports car. The model became the most popular British car to be sold in the United States.

  • A wonderful balance

Everyone else seems to have done a good job in capturing a whole horde of things that contribute to making an MGB such a delight to own and drive, so it's hard to know what to add, other than to say that it ultimately involves a love affair between man (and woman, of course) and machine. The attraction lies far beyond the simple matters of its looks, sounds, smells, rides, feels and sometimes irksome idiosyncrasies. For me it comes from a wonderful balance between appealing to both the mind and the heart, and isn't that what a true Lovemark should be all about?

  • It still stands out from the crowd...

It's great to see so many of our antipodean cousins making such favourable comments about a British car, and who wouldn't? The MGB is a wonderful machine that is loved by sports car afficionados everywhere around the world. Unlike most so called "sports cars" today, the MGB has a unique and distinct personality that still makes it stand out from the crowd 25 years after the last one was made.

  • Like an iPod on wheels

MGBs rock! They are just way too cool for words, kind of like an iPod on wheels. I have one and I love it with a passion that makes it a Lovemark for me. I drive my MGB to work every day and it's such fun it even makes heading for the daily grind a complete pleasure, and on the weekends there's nothing better than finding a winding piece of coast or mountain road to play with. What would life be without an MGB? - ordinary and boring is what!

  • Revving up sweetly

The wind in your hair, the sun on your face, the engine revving up sweetly until the tacho needle hits the orange line, the unique crackle of the exhaust, the satisfying notch as the gears engage, the sweep of a tight corner, the road disappearing beneath the bonnet, the smile that always creeps on to your face; just a few of the many joys of driving an MGB. Get behind the wheel of one if you can, and you'll instantly understand why this wonderful little sports car has been loved so much by so many people for over forty years. I've discovered you don't just drive an MGB; I experience it with my body, my mind, my heart and my soul - and THAT, my friends, is love.

  • That unmistakable note...

I've owned a Nurburg White, 1964 Mk1 MGB for thirty years... and every time I walk away from it I look back and fall in love with it all over again. Someone once said that there's not a single bad curve on the MGB body shape, and they were correct... it's so captivating you just want to run your hands all over it. I believe the MGB is the last of the world's "classic" sports cars, as only the British knew how to make them. By today's standards they're underpowered, uncomfortable and draughty, and beset with traditional oil and water leaks - but with the hood down on the first sunny day of spring and that unmistakable MGB exhaust note burbling in your ears... like me, you'll be hooked forever.
