  • A good luck charm

    Picture this, the summer of 2003. A blackout has gripped Manhattan trapping thousands of commuters in the heat. I'm standing at the bottom of a 20 floor flight of stairs so dark I can’t see my hands in front of me but it’s the only thing between me and a place to sleep. Then it dawns on me. In the pocket of my jeans is an aged Bic lighter. The flame was worn out and the bottom was shredded from months of using it as a bottle opener, but still bright enough to guide me up the stairs. I've kept the lighter to this day sitting on my desk. I now have one on me at all times. Its purpose has transcended from a simple lighter into a Lovemark and my luck charm. Its beauty lies in its simplicity. It truly is a great product.
