Nordstrom was created by John W. Nordstrom in 1901, located in Seattle, Washington. John Nordstrom had originally started the company out as a small, family owned shoe store. Today, Nordstrom is one of the leading upscale department stores of it's kind and remains family owned. The selection of clothes, shoes, handbags, jewelry, other accessories, home furnishings and even food and beverages is spectacular. As you have most likely heard, the customer service is even better. Nordstrom is a leading upscale department store because its foundation was set in stone and will never be forgotten. Nordstrom possesses all of the right ingredients and because if this, they will never fall. Who would have thought that a small, family owned business with simple core values and beliefs would prosper into a truly amazing company? I guess less really is more.

Love of my life
The love of my life. Each new city I move to I move close to the Nordstrom because I consider her one of my closest and dearest friends. Always there when I need her and treats me like a queen. I will always be loyal to her.

I still remember her thoughtful gesture
I was having a terrible day when I noticed a run in my hose 30 minutes before I was supposed to speak in front of a large group. I ran across the street to Nordstrom to buy a new pair of hose and went into a dressing room to put them on. Of course I was in such a hurry that I put a run in them, too. I stomped back to the counter to buy another pair, but the wonderful woman working there said she couldn't bear to charge me for a second pair of hose. She gave them to me instead. That was over seven years ago, but I still remember her thoughtful gesture and how it improved my day.

It's the old philosophy
At Nordstrom, Loyalty comes naturally. Nordstrom never takes advantage of me and always gives me the benefit of the doubt, even when I maybe don't deserve it. If a product is ever unsatisfactory, they'll take it back without an ounce of harassment or interrogation. In fact, you almost feel like you did them a favor. It's the old philosophy, 'if you put customer service first your business will succeed,' that has kept Nordstrom alive for over 100 years. I never feel like Nordstrom will ever not appreciate my business. Oh, and their products are superb on top of all that! Even their espresso bar could give Starbucks a run for its money!
