It has made my life better

Simple, beautiful, lugged steel bicycles. A catalog filled with gear that cannot be found anywhere else. A Reader filled with stories - strange and straightforward. I learned the difference between "ductile" and "tensile" strength because of the Reader, and I still have nearly every one. My first purchase was a dixie cup of beeswax. I later purchased a semi-custom All-Rounder, specced with the "heaviest tubing" because I'm a big guy and a bike that lasts is more important than a bike that is light, but it is still light - to me, very light. Tools and pedals and saddles and bags and more. Has it made me a better person? Don't know, but it has made my life better.
