  • Never found the same comfort with other brands

Technics till the end. Other manufacturers have developed specs better than technics but I have never found the same comfort with other brands as I do Technics. They are built rock solid and have never once failed me in the last 22 years of use. I will never switch!

  • They're still a leader, but...

Technics is one of the great letdowns of our generation. Not long ago, the brand completely owned the market for professional DJs. At this point, they're still a leader, but only one of them, and they lose more ground daily as more and more people move to new technologies. The indicators suggest that Technics was smug about their leadership position and failed to be serious about staying on top. So Vestax, Numark, Pioneer, and a growing list of others are eating away at both their market share and the greatness of their brand.

  • Inside the grooves

In 12's I trust. Nothing beats the durablity and precision of my 1200's. I adore the fact that they can absorb a hefty drop, or a wayward beverage, and still spin up without complaint. People have been known to complain about the 'extra weight' - this extra weight helps keep that needle firmly wedged inside the grooves of my precious Wax, especially when the venue is heaving, and those stomping feet are causing plaster to fall from the ceiling. Im confident that my 12's will still be spinning when I'm no longer capable.

  • Vestax is better..

Vestax are a better Turntable in my opinion. No squishy in the middle, more pitch and a totally solid construction. I have never mixed as well on Technics as I have on Vestax.

  • Precision meets the rockers uptown

Classic technology. The original direct-drive turntable. Precision HiFi equipment made to last. First produced in the early 70's, small changes were made in the late 70's (a different motor and a few new components) and the MK11 was released. The solid construction and ability to tune tracking, weight, pitch, etc saw its popularity increase. The first Disco and Beat DJs looked for reliability and flexibility to scratch/loop/mix music with other music and MCs in clubs and on the streets. The 1200 was the answer. As a workhorse, the audiophiles have to agree. This is a fine marriage - precision equipment meets the rockers uptown.
